A Resilient Land

Cycling the Water Towers of Africa, Ethiopian Highlands

This podcast is thanks to Peni Latin. In February 2019, as part of the Quest 79 project I bike with a group of friends and some local Ethiopian cyclists, through the mountainous Tigre and Amhara regions of northern Ethiopia.

Temperatures up to 47 degrees, altitudes around 3000 metres and long steep days in the saddle take their toll on me, but the dramatic landscape, the hardiness of the people living there, and the laughing crowds of children that run with us but a thought-provoking slant on what it means to be tough and resilient.
